On Sunday, I finally managed to elbow my way through the thick throng of human que to get my beloved The Avatar movie tickets. It was a fast sellout here in JB, City Square and I was lucky to get my back row seat tickets.

The movie started off almost alike to Star Ship Troopers with the almost crazy Marines who were posted to Pandora Planet preying and picking on the new recruits. Then the story gradually evolves into something more interesting as the main character gets involve in the new world of Pandora.

I was mesmerized by the great visual graphics as the world of Pandora was slowly shown. It was great to finally get to see what I usually I read in fantasy books to be visually depicted. It would be much better if it was shown in 3D. Unlucky for me, JB doesn’t have a 3D cinema.

I don’t really know how to put this in words. The main character, Jake Sully, was handicapped during his service on Earth, rendering him unable to use his legs. Unfortunately for him at that moment also, his wizard twin brother died in service in Pandora and the organisation needed a DNA match human to work the already made Avatar.

The avatar is a manufactured body of the inhabitants of the Pandora. They a cross breed of a panther and elf and a great hunter. However for the avatar to function, the DNA matched human person must enter a pod (like CAT SCAN) and let the soul connect with the avatar. How the scientist ever found a way to do that still boggles me.

The main story evolves as Jake became the avatar and stumbled upon the indigenous civilisation of the planet. He learned to see through their eyes and become one of them. As he progresses deeper into his studies and mission, he began to find a way to save the people of the planet as his organisation had planned to wipe out the community for a mine that is found deep underneath their village.

I am not going to go any more deeper into the story as it will be a thrill killer. You have to watch it to understand what I meant. Watch it and then share comments with me!!
