Spending it right

One of the best ways to be in your client’s good books is to bring them out on entertainment. Although some would just settle for a cup of coffee with a dash of the best local food over mindless chitchat, some would make sure you spend on them as much as their worth. I have had experience with some client’s, returned and new, who simply lavish on high expenses entertainment.

But you must make sure that whatever you spend on them is for the benefit of the company especially if you use the company’s credit card. It’s not going to be a nice experience trying to explain to your boss why there is an overdraft on the card when the so called client is not even present.

But seriously, I’d rather leave the high end expenses to someone who simply reeks of the expertise and good in the customer relationship. I simply have no patience to see my hard earned money going down on bottles of wine. It is my hard work you people are spending on!

So anyway, in some cases, the company also spends a bit on company souvenirs such as marketing pens, calendars and even mugs with our catchy logo and motto printed on them. Can’t have my face printed on it, I’d scare the customers away.. hehehe
