I just don’t understand what’s the fuss with quarreling over who owns what food.. I’m referring to the people (Malaysian, Singaporeans) who are quarreling over the origins of well known dishes such as nasi lemak, laksa, bak kut teh, chilli crab and Hainanese chicken rice.

If you ask me, none can lay claim to any of these food. Simply because those dishes belongs to everyone. Before Singapore separated from Malaysia, those dishes were already imprinted in our blood. However over the years, the dishes changed and improved to suit the needs and taste of the customers.

Take a look at Laksa. That dish itself has many varieties. You have the Penang Laksa, Nonya Laksa, Johor Laksa, Singapore Laksa, Kelantan Laksa.. So how to lay claim to these?

Thus, its pointless to quarrel over the origins of the dishes. The dishes belongs to everyone, not just a country. It’s impossible to stake claim over a dish that both countries have an attachment to.

Anyway for Patio owners, I have great news for you. You can get your new change of patio cushions at that attached link.
