I was lazing around on my bed last night and trying to destress myself over a hell ride, I’m not going to go into details on it, when Mahatir (the ex-president of Malaysia) made the spotlight on the day’s news.
He had officially quit UMNO. That was very interesting. And the terms he stated should the Malaysians ever want him back in UMNO is more interesting.
He wants the current president, Abdullah Badawi, to resign.
What is he thinking? Is he trying to create more turmoil to the point of destruction for the group he had so diligently try to upbring during his term in the presidency? Isn’t he suppose to support and respect the ruling of the current president as what he had told his people when he was the president?
Ok let’s imagine IF Pak Lah resigns. Then Najib takes over. Uh.. during those political tug-of-war has anyone ever thought what will happen to the citizen of Malaysia? With the coming rise in food prices, world economy inflation and natural disasters dropping at our doorstep, the future of Malaysia looks bleak.
Yes, BLEAK. And let’s just imagine that the PKR takes advantage of this political turmoil and over turn the current government, Oh Boy.. then there’s hell to pay. The opposition has never had experience in ruling the government. What IF the decisions they made are only for their own pockets and not for the good of the citizen?
This whole scenario of the political tug-of-war in Malaysia truly reminds me of the movie I watched, Ah Long Pte Ltd. Every single competition of power snidely jokes at the Malaysian government.
Take the part of the Ex-Chong for example. When he was the leader of the gangster, a minor cut on his finger made by a surprise attack by a warring competitor, the whole gang came over and howled their anger and demanded justice. A die hard fan of his even beg him not to retire when he made the decision. But the moment he relinquish his power to his second in command and was attacked, unfortunately got all his ten fingers injured, not one of the gang members came even the die hard fan.
Doesn’t it sound familiar? Who does it reminds you of???
