I’m not sure if my command of English had turned rusty and sour or the article I read in the newspapers today were completely full of bombastic words. I consider myself as a well literate and have a good command of the English language. I could converse and write them pretty well if I put my mind to it.

However, the article I read this morning about the school system in Malaysia made me flabbergasted. Perhaps it was seven in the morning and my brain wasn’t fully chugging at its normal rate but the must the article be structured and written in such a high standard that almost 70% of the words used needs a dictionary to explain the terminology.

I for one believe in using simple level of English to express my thoughts and opinions especially if it is to be read by the public. What’s the point of writing such a perfectly woven article if it only results in readers not comprehending a twit about what’s being said.

I’m not sure if the writer wanted to awe his readers on his flare for writing the article. He awed me alright.. Awed me to the point of scrambling for the meaning of the words from the dictionary.

Haiz.. I’ve just checked with my house agent and was told that the contractor was supposed to complete all the repair jobs by today. Hopefully that is right. I need to reapply for a new number since I can’t used the old one, no line transfer to another area. I need to at least get a term insurance quote from my agent in case anything unwanted happens to the house.

So many things to do!!!!
