Dad is in hospital for suspect of partial stroke. It looked that way to me since his whole left side of the face is paralysed. Had a slight panic during the first 36hrs of the incident and was nagged by my family GP to send him to the hospital before the crucial 48hrs of full stroke to take place.

You can just imagine how panicked and stressed out I was. Previously, it had happened before but after 24 hrs and a through traditional massage, the partial stroke was gone. That was 10yrs back. Now it relapsed again.

So now he is warded in the hospital after I send him to Changi General Hospital. He is warded at ward 49, bed 10. Currently I’ve gotten news from the doctor that his case was just an overlap of nerves but they are not taking it for granted and has warded him for a through check up.

Now I am waiting the doctor’s verdict whether he needs the CAT Scan or not and the MRI. Dad just called up to inform us of the news and I’m going to visit him again later in the day. Not sure if I will be heading back to JB today but highest possibility I need to as there are a few things for me to settle. Currently I’m lodging at my sister’s place in Singapore.

Will update about news of Dad later.

With the Iphone and phones that are built along with music player functions, has the glory of MP3 players been set to dull? I don’t really think so.

Although handphone makers are striving to make the ultimate handphone in the world, having almost everything in a handphone tends to jam the handphone.

I’m using a Sony Ericsson Walkman handphone. It has a 3MG pixel camera, music player and a built in Google Map GPS. It is great handphone when it was still brand new. However after a few years of using it and especially adding too many songs and pictures, my phone keep facing the stroke problem. It loves to play paralyze mode on me and it frustrates me.

Sure that it is nice having a speaker music phone especially when you cannot have a stereo around and would like to share the music with your friends. In fact, that was the reason why I had that phone in the first place, well apart from the camera functions.

But I realise that the replacement is still not as great as the real thing, mainly the MP3 players themselves. I could store as many songs as the memory allows me and set the player to any function I want without having to worry about it having a stroke.

No doubt, I would need to bring an extra peripheral and appliance but it really saves me the trouble to getting my handphone jammed up on me and destroying it in the moment of frustration. Furthermore, MP3 players are now much slimmer, lighter and suave!

It is not easy to govern a country that has many forms of religions and races. The line between each threshold is very thin and I’m glad that Malaysia and Singapore has managed to instill inter-racial and inter-religion harmony in all of their citizens.

However there will be a small cluster of irritants that try to make a fun on these sensitive issues. Take a look at the bombed churches and Suraus in Malaysia and the irresponsible comments left by 3 Singaporeans on Facebook. They may think that what they did was right and in retaliation of the use of the word “Allah” and the kids have thought it was just a bogus joke to leave unfair comments on other races on Facebook.

What they didn’t know that it is these small things that may create the next Racial/ Religious Riot that haunted Singapore in 1964. The older generations had experienced it and the nightmares that haunted them was still as fresh as freshly baked bread. In fact the impact was so strong that it had managed to get into Singapore’s History books.

People these days have to realise that we are living in an inter-racial community whereby we have to respect and other races and their religions. Don’t say anything hurtful or do rash actions that may incite the anger of the other party. I’m a proud Muslim and I was so flabbergasted and disgusted at the actions that some irresponsible people have done at the Churches and Suraus in Malaysia.

I was extremely close to beating the ones responsible into a bloody pulp and then strangling some sense into them. How could they do something so irresponsible and crazy like that? Take a look at the 1964 racial riot, the cause of it is almost the same as what those morons did.

I’m sure all of us love our peace and serenity. I am also very sure that we do not want to live with fear and death surrounding our vicinity and seeing our loved ones die all for the sake of a racial riot.

Furthermore for those offenders who tries their hand in breaking the internal security, load the toughest punishment on them! They deserve it! For their one stupid mistake, everyone else safety is at stake. Lash them, jail them and then fine them to the maximum. That ought to teach those idiots a lesson and others to never meddle with the safety of the nation.

I’ve heard of a laser surgery for the eye and my late grandmother was one of the lucky patients. Lucky because she had her full eyesight back, not fully 20/20 but from what she claimed, it is far better than seeing everything blurred and misty.

I knew of some people who really needs a laser surgery for the eye and I was, as usual browsing through the site, and found a lasik surgery Mexico. It’s basically a hospital where you can get your eyes done at much cheaper price in Mexico.

If you have bad eyesight problems especially if you happen to be a diabetic patient, I’d firmly suggest you get your eyes repaired. No doubt, there will be pain for the first few weeks due to the laser burn on your eyes but that can be solved by the painkillers.

This hospital, Hospital Angeles Tijuana, treats a wide variety of eye problems including those found below:-

myopia

astigmatism

farsightedness

presbyopia (eyestrain)

strabismus

cataracts (FACO)

glaucoma

Canaloplasty

Refractive surgery

Corneal surgery

Vitreo-retinal surgery

Eye muscle surgery

Oculoplastic surgery

They are very professional and graduates from well known medical schools. So no worries about the team of experts there. The price is much cheaper compared to those in the US. It cost USD2100 for both eyes instead of USD3000-USD7000. Cheaper isn’t it?

Not many people have in Malaysia knew the side effects of being in the same area with asbestos or why the widely used material in making roofs were banned from ever gracing the industry. The reason is very simple, asbestos causes malignant Mesothelioma.

The term malignancy refers to cancerous cells that usually have the ability to spread, invade, and destroy tissue. Malignant cells tend to have fast, uncontrolled growth. Malignant cells that are resistant to treatment may return after being removed or destroyed.

Mesothelioma is caused by asbestos and is a type of cancer that harms the membranes that surrounds the vital organs. These membranes are important as it provides the liquid to allow free movement of the organs.

No doubt asbestos is far cheaper than zinc roofing or plaster ceilings, it is highly dangerous as the small particles can be absorbed through your pores and then transported through the entire part of your body. Since it has a good fire resistant quality, it was also widely used in the heavy industries for constructions.

I for one agrees that the dust particles of the asbestos are as itchy as those from fiberglass products. There is this particular site I have viewed has a through coverage on the topics of Asbestos and the diseases it caused.

Chinese New Year is coming and I’ve been thinking of heading back to Singapore for a little R&R. I know from my 20years of my life staying there, almost all shops will be closed on those days. I don’t need to shop, what I need is to relax a little and perhaps eat my way through the holidays.

I had thought of doing a little adventure during the New Year like heading to Melaka but after remembering the disastrous massive jams which grace all major highways on those special days, I tossed that idea away.

CNY is not the best time to go on for a holiday unless that holiday consist of staying in a forested area with no hotels and roads around. Furthermore the hotel rates will be on full rate! Burn a huge hole in my pocket..

I think I’d just stick to relaxing at my sister’s place, go for a dip in the sea and collect all the Ang Pao!!!! Hahaha.. I’m not married yet, so I’m privileged to get those.

I am officially sick. I’ve been letting my anti-bodies running rampant with a scythe and stakes to kill those pesky virus and bad bacterias which are causing me to be sick. That was two weeks ago and now I’m eating pills to allow reinforcement enter my blood stream. Seems like my anti-bodies had too many casualties to win the battle.

Now with just a sore throat (better than losing my voice), dry cough, slight fever and a bad craving for Bento set, I’m reduced to camping on my bed. Not a good way to camp but it has it perks as I can bellow my orders from my bed, not to mention the lull of the comfortable bed.

Anyway I had to drag myself to m y computer for another round of Mafia Wars Facebook while free surfing on the news and some new industrial safety supplies. I’m a sucker for new pairs of shiny safety goggles and back brace belts which I really need especially during those heavy jobs.

In all, I have a total of two back brace. One of which is used for daily usage while the other one is used during those heavy jobs, both are thoroughly worn out. I’m a young woman and keeping my back in good condition is an utmost importance for me.

Oh NO!! Her Majesty Mommy has sniffed me out. Need to head back to my bed now. I haven’t even finished my Mafia Wars yet…

There are many fat burners in the world. For newbies who are green and are deciding to get the fat burners that works, it’s going to be a tough time trying to browse the shelves for the best fat burner.

There are those which are Halal, can be consumed by Muslims, Vegan and those normal ones. A very confusing situation to be in and I don’t envy whoever has to be in that shoes.

There are a few important notes to remember before buying yourself a new bottle of fat burners. Not all fat burners targets the areas that you want so don’t grumble when you suddenly realise that your bust size has shrunk. Fat burners also may contain ingredients that may cause an allergy to drug allergy people.

Last but very most important of all, if you are a chronic disease patient, check with your doctor about the fat burners you will be taking. The ingredients must comply to your medical records. We don’t want you to burn y0ur way to hell now…

Blogging is the next best this that could ever happen for those who loves to write, gossip and jot down their thoughts and sharing them with the world. Each blog has its own unique feel and topic discussed almost everyday. Too bad for me, I just couldn’t get any firm topic or subject to write on my blogs. Oh well I write whatever that crosses my mind.

However this time I came across a few very interesting things about paid blogging. The rate has gone from bad to worse. A few years back, the rate for paid blogging was fantastic and I could easily sit on my bum and type away over anything that covers the paid blogging topic and earn the same amount as my friends who were working in the office.

Even though bloggers have done everything to boost their sites to make it more competitive like putting their sites in all web directory submission, it still isn’t enough. Now advertisers have become more fussy and more demanding but the rates they are paying is not suitable to accommodate their demand.

I’m not going to list who the irritating advertisers are as it will bring me down to their level. But it is very frustrating to meet to the fancy of these pansies. *snickers*

The things we had to do for our pocket money…

The columnist must have been a woman and when I checked her out on the net, she is a woman. Well that’s what I had been expecting when I read her wonderful article on the weaker sex.

Initially she was writing about how weak and soft we women are. But as it progresses, the men somehow became the baby and it’s the women who controlled the power. Here, let me paste the article below for your humour.

A minor ailment is enough to reduce Mr Macho to a whimpering babe.

MANY men morph into helpless babies when they suffer from a minor ailment.

For example, take Arnold Schwarzenegger, the Governor of California and star of the hugely popular Terminator movies. Although he’s a physically strong man, when he gets sick I’m sure he sniffles and snuffles loudly beneath his quilt and waits for his wife Maria to bring him a comforting bowl of chicken soup.

“Ach, Maria,” he might say in his strong Austrian accent, “I vood die vithout you. Don’t ever leave me.”

Maria will stroke the feverish brow of the ex-Mr Universe and smile knowingly. If she wants to get a new pair of diamond earrings or have her kitchen renovated, now is the time to ask.

When the man in your life is “dying” from the common cold or a painful boil on his bottom or a bee sting on his neck, you must milk it for all it’s worth.

When a usually powerful, independent man puts himself into his wife’s hands and whimpers over a minor ailment, it can make her feel extremely powerful. She is likely to pander to his every whim, in a way that she never would were he healthy, because she knows that she’s totally in control.

“Don’t worry, my little pumpkin, Mama will take good care of you,” Maria will tell Arnold, as she spoonfeeds him his soup. And the most powerful man on the west coast of the US will murmur contentedly and hand over control of the state to the woman playing Florence Nightingale.

If Maria has any brains, she will authorise the state of California to conduct research into pain alleviation interventions for women giving birth, dignified and painless mammograms, and the ability of men to give birth.

Upon recovery, Arnold will probably agree to these requests, especially the last one, ridiculous though it may sound. You see, Arnold became pregnant and gave birth to a baby in his 1994 move Junior. Never mind that the film was named the second-worst comedy ever by a popular movie critic, Arnold must have some empathy with the suffering that many women experience during childbirth to have made such a movie in the first place.

If you’re wondering about the worst comedy ever made, it’s Little Nicky, starring Adam Sandler. But I digress.

A friend who is a nurse agrees that men and minor ailments can be a real pain. However, give a man a life-threatening disease, and chances are he will take his condition with quiet stoicism. In other words, presented with a cancerous organ, your typical male will not utter a single woe-is-me word, but give him an ingrown hair follicle and he will carp and complain to anyone within earshot.

To back up this argument, there is a phenomenon called Manflu that afflicts most men. The Urban Dictionary defines Manflu as “the condition shared by all males wherein a common illness (usually a mild cold) is presented by the patient as life-threatening”.

If you have never encountered a case of Manflu before, here is a list of symptoms, courtesy of www.manflu.org.uk:

? He cannot give you a concise breakdown of his symptoms and relies on “it hurts everywhere”.

? His is a competitive ailment, so if you point out you suffered from the same thing but struggled through and recovered, he responds: “Oh, but this is much worse.”

? He retreats to bed or the sofa and appears nervous at the thought of moving, especially when the word “work” is used or if the phrase “get it yourself” is used in anger.

? He may be found watching daytime TV programmes or his favourite football DVD.

? Men suffering from Manflu are often unable to carry out their normal chores. If challenged, they may sigh heavily, look martyred and state: “I am ill, you know.”

? The patient may also pore over an A-Z guide to health problems or trawl medical sites on the Internet, with a resulting rise in the number and severity of symptoms.

The belief that a man suffers more severely than a woman does when they are both down with the same strain of flu virus, has been the focus of much research. Indeed, scientists recently claimed that men suffer from Manflu because they have weaker immune systems than women that leave them more susceptible to infections.

I’m just wondering if any men would be open to popping oestrogen-based pills to shore up their immune systems. Personally, I hope not. All those accompanying monthly mood swings would be too much for the average woman to bear.

I totally agree with her about men turning into big babies when they start having the slight cold or have a Boo-Boo on their body. My dad and brothers seem to love pulling that dying-patient-act on the women of the house whenever they feel under the weather.
