Experience of 1 day without mobile phone
A few weeks ago, I was left without a working computer for a two weeks and I almost died of boredom. It was an experience that I would never want to go through again. Usually every time I am bored which is every hour, I would either play my Sims 2, surf the net or read on my e-books.
But ever since the computer went to the docks, my favourite past time is reduced to just slog on the sofa, watching soap operas, occasional visits to the kitchen, washing all the dirty dishes in the sinks or sleep. That was how bored my life was without my darling machine. Life was very monotonous during this time until I salvaged all my old books and revert back to the good old days, slouching on my bed or anywhere that I can lie on and read.
Amazing how technology, mainly my computer, rules my life and addiction. Life was very simple for before computer and mobile phones were ever created. I remembered when I was a child, the only form of entertainment I had before TV really made its way to the household, was cycling with my neighbours, play tag using the whole neighbourhood as our playground, hopscotch and believe or not, cookery class or better well known as “Main Masak-Masak”. Even though I’m the only girl in the block that falls in the same age as my neighbours children, kids will always be kids and when we see a new game, our favourite phase will always be “Can I join please?”. That was how we eventually made many friends.
Very well mannered all of us. Our parents strict upbringing are to be thanked for and not to mention, our neighbours’ kids will always go back home and complain to the individual parents should one of us ever sprout out any cursed words. Ooh.. the punishment were horrible.
So getting back to the topic, I finally got my mobile phone back and it works superbly having to only bear the cost of RM45.00 for the repair. If I had known it was going to be that cheap, I’d have sent it a very long time ago. I was prepared to fork out about RM140.00 or so for the repair. Hehehe..
At least my separation with my mobile phone is not as bad as my addiction to my pc.
