Being in Sim Lim Square is like walking into Alice in the Wonderland. Endless rows of electronics items. From handphones, cameras and most beloved of all computers.

The escalators are filled will people giving out pamphlets which harbored the best computer and laptop deals. If you are not used to having tons of deals shoved up to you literally into your face, you’d be left bereft once you step outside of the building.

The deals were really good. I managed to get a 4GB thumb drive (SanDisk) at $9.90. It’s much cheaper compared to last year. Their 32GB however is around $20+ or so. However I do not really want to know why I’d want something that big size of a memory unless I’d like to dumb in all of my videos.

Their 1TB hard drive cost around $110 or so. It’s really quite Ok. Anyway I need to go back there since I need to do something to my old PC.

What is YouTube Downloader?

It is a software that enables you to download the videos that you like from YouTube and then change to whichever supporting format you want. They even have formats that can support your Ipod n Iphone(Yay to Apple users).

How to Use it?

Install it first and then fiddle with it after that. That’s how I figured out everything.. But I doubt that works for everyone.

Right, so you basically copy whichever video URL from YouTube into the software prompt box and then let them download them from you. After the download completes, you can now convert them into whatever format you want and load it up to your music peripherals.

It’s simple..

Download it here (courtesy of Cnet)

I really love perfumes (which women doesn’t?). However I have a habit to always get small miniature bottles and line them up in my dresser. I love the ability to choose the perfumes I would use for each day and I do have different scents for different occassion.

I love Moschino, Calvin Klein, Burberry, Armani, Escada, Bvalgari and Salvatore Ferragamo. The fragrances are so drop dead nice and some of them are down right sexy!

I also love clothes and love to shop for men’s clothing whenever I have the budget and time for it. I love dolling up my darling even though there are times the urge to grind my teeth at his horrible taste overwhelms my common sense. He can be so ‘endearing’ at times!

He doesn’t like bright colors like me. I love expressive art but he thinks its a waste of time. I try to make him dress in nice shirts, he prefers the dull ones. Gah!!!

So should I get a shirt like this for him? Hmm…

I’ve heard of a laser surgery for the eye and my late grandmother was one of the lucky patients. Lucky because she had her full eyesight back, not fully 20/20 but from what she claimed, it is far better than seeing everything blurred and misty.

I knew of some people who really needs a laser surgery for the eye and I was, as usual browsing through the site, and found a lasik surgery Mexico. It’s basically a hospital where you can get your eyes done at much cheaper price in Mexico.

If you have bad eyesight problems especially if you happen to be a diabetic patient, I’d firmly suggest you get your eyes repaired. No doubt, there will be pain for the first few weeks due to the laser burn on your eyes but that can be solved by the painkillers.

This hospital, Hospital Angeles Tijuana, treats a wide variety of eye problems including those found below:-

myopia

astigmatism

farsightedness

presbyopia (eyestrain)

strabismus

cataracts (FACO)

glaucoma

Canaloplasty

Refractive surgery

Corneal surgery

Vitreo-retinal surgery

Eye muscle surgery

Oculoplastic surgery

They are very professional and graduates from well known medical schools. So no worries about the team of experts there. The price is much cheaper compared to those in the US. It cost USD2100 for both eyes instead of USD3000-USD7000. Cheaper isn’t it?

Not many people have in Malaysia knew the side effects of being in the same area with asbestos or why the widely used material in making roofs were banned from ever gracing the industry. The reason is very simple, asbestos causes malignant Mesothelioma.

The term malignancy refers to cancerous cells that usually have the ability to spread, invade, and destroy tissue. Malignant cells tend to have fast, uncontrolled growth. Malignant cells that are resistant to treatment may return after being removed or destroyed.

Mesothelioma is caused by asbestos and is a type of cancer that harms the membranes that surrounds the vital organs. These membranes are important as it provides the liquid to allow free movement of the organs.

No doubt asbestos is far cheaper than zinc roofing or plaster ceilings, it is highly dangerous as the small particles can be absorbed through your pores and then transported through the entire part of your body. Since it has a good fire resistant quality, it was also widely used in the heavy industries for constructions.

I for one agrees that the dust particles of the asbestos are as itchy as those from fiberglass products. There is this particular site I have viewed has a through coverage on the topics of Asbestos and the diseases it caused.

I couldn’t help but giggle and laugh my heart out when I read my morning papers today. The columnist must have been a woman and when I checked her out on the net, she is a woman. Well that’s what I had been expecting when I read her wonderful article on the weaker sex.

Initially she was writing about how weak and soft we women are. But as it progresses, the men somehow became the baby and it’s the women who controlled the power. Here, let me paste the article below for your humour.

Zackire.com is not the owner of the article below. All credits are given to TheStar.com.my. Standard Disclaimers Applied.

A minor ailment is enough to reduce Mr Macho to a whimpering babe.

MANY men morph into helpless babies when they suffer from a minor ailment.

For example, take Arnold Schwarzenegger, the Governor of California and star of the hugely popular Terminator movies. Although he’s a physically strong man, when he gets sick I’m sure he sniffles and snuffles loudly beneath his quilt and waits for his wife Maria to bring him a comforting bowl of chicken soup.

“Ach, Maria,” he might say in his strong Austrian accent, “I vood die vithout you. Don’t ever leave me.”

Maria will stroke the feverish brow of the ex-Mr Universe and smile knowingly. If she wants to get a new pair of diamond earrings or have her kitchen renovated, now is the time to ask.

When the man in your life is “dying” from the common cold or a painful boil on his bottom or a bee sting on his neck, you must milk it for all it’s worth.

When a usually powerful, independent man puts himself into his wife’s hands and whimpers over a minor ailment, it can make her feel extremely powerful. She is likely to pander to his every whim, in a way that she never would were he healthy, because she knows that she’s totally in control.

“Don’t worry, my little pumpkin, Mama will take good care of you,” Maria will tell Arnold, as she spoonfeeds him his soup. And the most powerful man on the west coast of the US will murmur contentedly and hand over control of the state to the woman playing Florence Nightingale.

If Maria has any brains, she will authorise the state of California to conduct research into pain alleviation interventions for women giving birth, dignified and painless mammograms, and the ability of men to give birth.

Upon recovery, Arnold will probably agree to these requests, especially the last one, ridiculous though it may sound. You see, Arnold became pregnant and gave birth to a baby in his 1994 move Junior. Never mind that the film was named the second-worst comedy ever by a popular movie critic, Arnold must have some empathy with the suffering that many women experience during childbirth to have made such a movie in the first place.

If you’re wondering about the worst comedy ever made, it’s Little Nicky, starring Adam Sandler. But I digress.

A friend who is a nurse agrees that men and minor ailments can be a real pain. However, give a man a life-threatening disease, and chances are he will take his condition with quiet stoicism. In other words, presented with a cancerous organ, your typical male will not utter a single woe-is-me word, but give him an ingrown hair follicle and he will carp and complain to anyone within earshot.

To back up this argument, there is a phenomenon called Manflu that afflicts most men. The Urban Dictionary defines Manflu as “the condition shared by all males wherein a common illness (usually a mild cold) is presented by the patient as life-threatening”.

If you have never encountered a case of Manflu before, here is a list of symptoms, courtesy of www.manflu.org.uk:

? He cannot give you a concise breakdown of his symptoms and relies on “it hurts everywhere”.

? His is a competitive ailment, so if you point out you suffered from the same thing but struggled through and recovered, he responds: “Oh, but this is much worse.”

? He retreats to bed or the sofa and appears nervous at the thought of moving, especially when the word “work” is used or if the phrase “get it yourself” is used in anger.

? He may be found watching daytime TV programmes or his favourite football DVD.

? Men suffering from Manflu are often unable to carry out their normal chores. If challenged, they may sigh heavily, look martyred and state: “I am ill, you know.”

? The patient may also pore over an A-Z guide to health problems or trawl medical sites on the Internet, with a resulting rise in the number and severity of symptoms.

The belief that a man suffers more severely than a woman does when they are both down with the same strain of flu virus, has been the focus of much research. Indeed, scientists recently claimed that men suffer from Manflu because they have weaker immune systems than women that leave them more susceptible to infections.

I’m just wondering if any men would be open to popping oestrogen-based pills to shore up their immune systems. Personally, I hope not. All those accompanying monthly mood swings would be too much for the average woman to bear.

I totally agree with her about men turning into big babies when they start having the slight cold or have a Boo-Boo on their body. My dad and brothers seem to love pulling that dying-patient-act on the women of the house whenever they feel under the weather.

I’ve been a chat moderator for years now, I’m not going to start telling which chat rooms and sites I’ve moderated else I’d ruin the fun of kicking people out anonymously. It’s quite a surprise at what people had been discussing online, from the normal current news topics to the down right strange topics like DOWN WITH HUMANITY.

What in the world drives these people to come up with the topic to destroy all mankind? Harlo, mental check… if I’m not wrong, the only creature in the world that I know of who knows how to use the computer, the internet and comes up with the weirdest topic at hand is a human. So to even suggest to destroy human beings… I had suggested that particular chat group to get a mental and social help from a Ministry of Mental Health approved therapist.

You can say that my suggestion was rewarded with harsh words since the group had claimed that they were creatures, beings from a higher kind, from a higher celestial level than of a human. RIGHT…. I don’t really like to call a group of people mentally retarded but those people were really tempting me.

So in the end I just smiled while my mouse hovered the option of demolishing the group. One click and all of those irritating noisy words erased away.

It had never been my policy to belittle one’s opinion of believes but there are some topics which I have drawn the line. DOWN WITH HUMANITY is one of them.

I’ve been a Goth and a Wiccan when I was younger, happily indulging in those arts even though I had known it was just a phase of my life that will pass within years. I’ve read and done a through study of the dark arts of the Goth and can name almost all of the names and symbols of the Devil and the Wiccan symbols.

But I’ve never planned to destroy humanity! Those were just a passing hobby I did during my free time when I was younger before Islam pulled me back into reality and made me realised what a fool I’ve been. That phase had done and gone, it was fun but I hope that THAT particular group realised what a foolish they had been doing and return to the right path before they start thinking that suicide bombing is a great way to end humanity.

Word is out and the jury has spoken. Bloggers who are paid to blog posts or review a product or service will have to disclose the paid posts. You can read it more below since I have blockquote the article. The article is taken from The Straits Times.

SAN FRANCISCO – US FEDERAL Trade Commission guideline updates approved Monday require bloggers to reveal freebies or pay related to online commentary or face hefty fines.

FTC officials addressed online reviews by bloggers in the first revisions to Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising since 1980.

‘The post of a blogger who receives cash or in-kind payment to review a product is considered an endorsement,’ FTC Secretary Donald Clark said in an 81-page notice of revised guidelines.

‘Thus, bloggers who make an endorsement must disclose the material connections they share with the seller of the product or service.’ The FTC listed examples to clarify how ‘material connections’ that can include payments or free products must be disclosed by bloggers or ‘other word-of-mouth marketers’ that endorse products.

‘The revised Guides specify that while decisions will be reached on a case-by-case basis, the post of a blogger who receives cash or in-kind payment to review a product is considered an endorsement,’ Clark wrote.

Fines for violators of the rules can reportedly be as much as US$11,000 (S$15,620). — AFP

Hmm.. But from what I read in the article its only for San Francisco and those posts that fell under that jurisdiction. Since I’m a Singaporean, I’m not really sure if my blog falls into that law. Might as well check with my sponsors.

Anyway, this whole site is covered by a site disclosure policy under the ADVERTISER READ ME . Read that if you are not sure of what this website does.

I finally found a new obsession!! A new life, a new comrade, a new game!! I am talking about the multi-player online game, aion.

Like Final Fantasy, Dynasty Warriors and Elderscrolls, this game is a fantasy game equipped with fantastic graphics an storyline. Since its is an online game, you can communicate with other players on the servers while you head out on your adventure.

They also have a new aion forum where players can trash out their frustration and share their experience in the game with other players. I’d prefer using their old forum, even though its pack, at least the background colour doesn’t need me to squint my eyes.

The System Requirements are as below:-

You need a 2.8GHz processor to play the game smoothly without any hiccups. The game is interesting but too bad you need to purchase the game before you can play them. There is also a monthly fee charged for you to continuously play the game online.

I haven’t purchased the game and played it yet, thus I can’t give a full review on the game like how I did on Oblivion, Elder Scrolls. But since they charge a monthly fee to continuously play this game, I’d rather play other non-online games.
