An amazing responses with different reactions to the latest post. Wow..  Well in reply to those who had commented on Don’t Be Cheated By Paid Survey, the reason why I chose to spend that cash on it was to appease the curiosity and also to learn their tricks into cheating other lambs into the mouth of the beast.

Furthermore the cash used was from my own bank account, so no worries there ChrisFaz.

So if anyone wishes to know the Paid Links, Paid Survey etc found in that website, you are more than welcome to email me. I will share the info with you.

Anyway I was suppose to post this up last Sunday when I was happily dining out on Ikan Bakar. For those who wish for the recipe, please email me and I’ll be glad to send you a copy of my own recipe.

Too bad for those that missed it!

Woohoo!! I finally managed to get the green light to adopt the newborn kittens from my next door neighbour.

I am so happy!

I got three new kittens. Two was originally “ordered” from my neighbour while another one was another one of my act of the good Samaritan. Like the previous cat I adopted years back, I took him in a few secs before he got crushed by a passing dumb truck. Well now I got those 3 and hopefully they are not as rascal as the previous one.. hehehe

So to share some of the weirdness I did over the weekend, check out the pics I took for my lunch yesterday. Made it myself. A combination of beef soup noodle with a little tinge of Japanese touch. Yummy!!

PS: Its not Maggi. I just used instant noodle since mom forgot to buy my favorite Ramen Noodle. Want the recipe? Holler me!

8th Oct 2007,

Eid Mubarak, Hari Raya Puasa, is coming in less than 4 days. In the midst of cleaning up for the occasion, I had to sacrifice my good pair of lungs when I cleaned up my room. The kids really know how to mess up my place and it took me the whole day to clean off all the junk wrappers, thick dusts, leftover sweet wrappers (I’m gonna have Arul’s head when he returns) and change all of the curtains, bedsheets and pick-up the dirty laundry which the kids have managed to hide.

Good thing I was fasting! I was highly tempted to go to Singapore and pull their ears for the mess they put me up with.

Anyway I also made a few cakes. Cake Lapis Prune n Apricots, Cake Lapis Prune n Mango with cinnamon flavor. It was my first try with my own recipe and it works!! ahaha.. although I think next time I’m gonna put in small amount of batter for each layers. The kids help out alot as usual so if the latter cake tasted a bit like mango, you have to thank the kids. It was their idea to put in mango flavour for one layer. At least they didn’t put in royal icing on them… hahaha

Abang Azrin is coming over this Wednesday night.. but I think he’ll reach here around Thursday morning.. But I’m not really sure cuz he is AZRIN.. hahaha

Mom is once again in her entrepreneur mood swings. It has left me and my usually over energised siblings drained to accomodate her cute orders. Who in their right mind could ever say no to mom especially when she calls us by our nicknames.. (mom and her cuteness is much dangerous than a newly sharpen knife)

Shah is never safe when mom gives him Mommie Hugs.. ahahah

So after dallying and wrangling up my men into their correct mindset, I gave them an off day yesterday along with their hard-earned salary which I finally manage to squeeze from my main-con. Then set off back to JB just in time to buy mom her new Moulinex blender along with the chopper. The old cranky blender decided that it’s service for the past 3 years is more than it can handle… hehehe

Then I had to lend my expertise to my tired siblings in draining the blended pineapple puree (we are making the traditional pineapple tarts). That standing and draining took up 2+hrs (we had to blend a total of 30pcs of large Morris pineapples). By the time I was done, it was 5pm, time to prepare for dinner or aka break-fast.

Since the cute old grannie was too tired and almost indispose, I was in-charge for the cooking which I was more than happy accomodate. Microwave steamed Tenggiri fish, Broccoli-Tomato-mushroom soup, Sambal sotong Kering and Kerang Rebus with Rice was ready by 6.30pm just in time for my younger sister to take care of the drinks. The menu was just nice for my anti-veggie siblings who hates vegetables. Since the steamed fish is a dry dish, they had no choice but to make do with the vegetable soup (the recipe is attached below).

I don’t understand why Ayu insisted on wearing a sarong over her pants..

By the time it was 7pm, my back was almost at the brink of breaking. But at least, my family and my dad especially was pleased by the cooking. After dinner, I rallied my tired but re-energised siblings in helping mom in the cooking of the drained pineapples puree. As the picutre depicts, there are times we fooled around like idiots and times whereby sheer physical power is needed to stir the concoction constantly. That, I give the credit to my beloved youger brother, Shahrul. Without him, we women would be dead. The mixture once reaches the cooked stage mixed with sugar, is as good as making Dodol.. I don’t even need to go to the gym to get muscles.. ahaha..

The head chef, mom, officially considers the pineapple ready at 11.30pm, which was almost 6hrs of cooking from 4pm. Although bone weary, the moment we received Mommy Hugs/Kisses and large pints of Moccha, the tension just simply fade away..

Ps.. Arul, since you requested, I’m putting up almost all of the pics we took that I think doesn’t make me look silly and Ayu, I’m not making the tarts so you can eat until your stomach is full.. You kids owe me an ice-cream! ahaha

20th February 2007

So I just recently came back from my nightly-haunts for great “makan” (eating) places. Since there are so many eating houses here in my place, Skudai, I’ve decided to drop some info for the Makan places I’ve been.

Please take note that I was wearing really house clothes (T-shirts with bermudas/ really worn out jeans) when I went to eat at these places, its a habit of mine to see how good their service are and whether they are downright snobs.

Restoran Mustika Zam-Zam
Location: in front of Bestmart hypermarket, behind KFC. (Tmn Tan Sri Yaccob)
My pointers: Bad service.. The servers keep mixing up the orders and they certainly do not like to entertain locals who wear tattered jeans and worn-looking T-shirts. Time taken for the food to be served is 15mins.. (I was downright hungry)
Food was nice although the RM2.00 Murtabak was a little too dissappointing cuz there wasn’t enough meat to suffice my hunger.
My Ranking: Not coming again.

Ros Merah Restaurant
Location: Nusa Bestari in the direction of Sutera Utama from Bukit Indah, beside Repson Spare Parts.
My Pointers: Friendly service. Although sometimes the new recruits jumble up the orders, their attentive supervisors is always there to make sure the right orders heads our way. The servers will indulge you in a conversation if you feel kinda lonely when you are dining alone at night and the large TV screen is enough to make soccer lovers to crawl out for a dinner. Food is served in 10mins or so and their Murtabak RM4.00.. is huge with lots of meat and well meat in them.. and you can request for extra crispy top layer.
My Ranking: Good for really hungry diners.

lets see… there are still plenty of good makan places in Skudai but since I’ve never taken care of the names of the shops… just have to wait for another post for the upcoming good Makan places.

Find this interesting?Digg!
