I’ve been cracking my head since yesterday morning ever since my brother hook me up with a writer’s community. He knows I am an avid writer who loves to write but just can’t get a good foothold.

So other than hinting to me that there are loads of topics which I can talk about in a good flow, there’s also and incentive. The website is teeming with well known publishers looking for good articles to buy and contest are held every week for writers.

However the contest for this week topic which I undertook was Islam. There were other 10 different topics but they were just not suitable for me. Unfortunately for me, my Islamic knowledge was a rusty old contraption that is only being brought out once in red moon. Yes Red moon, the bizzare phenomenon that only happens once in a century.

The Islamic topics which were being discussed and written about looks quite simple but the moment I try to put in down in words that can capture and move an audience, was a head cracking event. A lot of information was brought out and not trusting my rusty knowledge, I had dished out my old reference book and even the Quran as my best reference. What best way to get real and good information on Islamic knowledge than the Quran..

I took up “Spiritual and physical benefits of fasting in Ramadan” and “Islamic festivals: The spirit behind Eid -ul-Adha“. I had wanted to get “Quran Study: The significance of Surah Fatiha” but there’s a risk which I’m not willing to take. If I misinterpret the meanings behind the surah, I’m in trouble. Not only its a sin, but religious communities will sniff me out and before you know it, I’ll be the next Mas Selamat.

The competition is tough and each hour the contestants ranking changed, either for the better or for the worse. But luckily I’m still in the top 15. Lastnight I was at the fifth rank until someone pushed me off. Hmm..

At least this way its much better. I don’t need to endlessly browse the internet.
