Finally after waiting for two decades, Malaysian Soccer Team has finally scored a gold medal in the SEA Games. Beating Vietnam, 1-0, the battle for the medal was teeth grinding as each player tries to execute their opponent in the most professional-foul-free-way possible. You can almost see the strain of the game etched on each players face as they strive to bring home the game’s glory.

It was a good and well played match and an event that I MISSED!!! I couldn’t believe I had totally forgotten and missed watching the eventful match. It had been a very hectic day with me rushing to places in the rainy weather. Although I had placed a reminder on my handphone, the ringer didn’t bell off as loudly as I had thought it would be.

By the time I had finally checked my handphone, it was already 9pm. The match had already ended and I totally missed the glorified event. Grr…

I am not much of a soccer fan, never know all the rules to even pass as a back bencher. The only thing I know of soccer is 11 men had to chase after a ball and score it into their opponent’s goal. Initially I had thought it as stupid since I kept thinking why would 11 good bodied men would want to chase after a ball, albeit big, while they have their balls attached to them.

*snickers madly* But after watching the world cup, FIFA, I was totally entranced by the power displayed by these men. It’s as if their life depends on this one ball. Then that is where my passion for watching major Soccer Matches erupted.

I don’t watch those normal MAN U versus Dunno-What-Else but I’m an avid spectator for watching countries engage in a good match especially in Soccer. FIFA, SEA Games and inter-countries friendly game are my all time favourites. In fact the only time you can catch me watch a soccer match.

Malaysian Soccer Team, I take off my hat forĀ  you. You guys did Malaysia proud.

Singapore Young Lions, a good try in striving for goal. Need lots of work in patching up those messy defends and loose balls. GRRR…
